Financial recruitment viewpoint for the future

Howarth Morris specialising in financial recruitment are just one company based in Portal Business Centres, Warrington. They were asked to speak at Portal’s monthly breakfast meeting. A meeting designed to get a business community together and share positive ideas and news.

Howarth Morris deal with small to large companies placing part qualified and qualified accounting professionals they have a strong reputation in the North West and it is easy to see why.  Paul Howarth is a man clearly with good business sense he has worked thorough the last recession so has the benefit and knowledge of hind sight and has looked into the history of recessions.

‘Traditionally deep recessions last for 5 quarters and I believe we are in our 4th. The last quarter of 2008 was awful but things are looking better and I’m optimistic they are going to pick up going into next year’  said Paul ‘ I believe the recession will lead to better quality competition and it is important to be prepared for the opportunities in the next 3 to 6 months.’

Paul’s factual and no-nonsense approach was refreshing. He openly states that money in the bank is the way to stability, adding the old saying cash is king, profit is sanity and revenue is vanity.

He believes those in business quarter one 2010 will be in a good position and need to look at becoming the employer of choice by designing packages aimed at growing people’s careers in order to attract the good people that will be in the market place for a job. Howarth Morris will be there continuing to give good advice.

Sallie Maskrey from Portal Business Centres said ‘The breakfast meetings are ideal for our small businesses, they are excellent for intelligence sharing and comforting for tenants to know that they are not alone.  Having a positive outlook is essential for businesses to move forward and I feel we succeeded in that today’
